In the CEO’s office, Ridge asked Carter why he signed the tax paperwork. Carter asked if there was a problem. “I don’t know, you tell me. This is the paperwork for the LLC, and your name is on it as manager,” Ridge said. Carter offered to draw up new papers.
Taylor came into the office and distracted everyone. Carter stood over Ridge, watching intently as Steffy urged Ridge to sign. “This is Carter,” Steffy said, noting that they could trust him to have done the paperwork correctly. Ridge wasn’t sure and felt like something was off, but with the activity in the office, he couldn’t think about it and just signed it. Ridge thanked Carter and apologized for the frustration. “Just know that everyone here loves you and respects you. Everyone in this whole family,” Ridge told Carter as he handed him the signed papers.
After Carter left, Taylor noted that things had been strained but called Carter indispensable. Steffy said that Carter wasn’t a team player at the moment and was caught up in Hope’s perspective. Ridge added that Carter thought the expansion idea was the best one ever, but he, Steffy, and Eric disagreed. Ridge said that Carter was digging in his heels with Hope, but he didn’t get it.
Ridge said it was important to let Carter know how valued he was at the company and within the family. Steffy thought Carter was reacting to Hope’s damsel in distress act. Ridge said that regardless of everything, Carter was a dear friend to him and someone he trusted.

At the cabin, Hope wondered what was happening at Forrester. Brooke came in, and Hope nervously talked about Steffy and how Ridge wouldn’t go against his daughter. Hope added that Carter was risking so much for her. Brooke wondered what he was risking.
Hope said she just meant that Carter was on her side. They talked about Liam and rehashed the history between Liam, Steffy, and Hope’s back and forth. Hopegushed that what she had with Carter was different. She couldn’t imagine Liam or any other man fighting for the way that Carter was.
Hope continued to praise Carter but almost let it slip a couple of times that something more was going on. Carter came in and was visibly shaken. He told Hope that the way things went with Ridge and Steffy was “interesting.” Brooke gave them time alone and left. Carter somberly told Hope that he fought for her the best that he could. He recapped his conversation at the office and said he thought he was getting through to Ridge, but he still supported Steffy’s decision.
Carter told Hope about the paperwork signing and that Ridge spotted Carter’s name on the documents. Hope worried that Ridge figured it out and knew what they were up to, but Carter told her that Ridge had signed. “The man trusts me. Never in a million years could Ridge imagine that I could do this to him and his family,” Carter lamented. But then Carter remembered everything they did to Hope, and he was immediately conflicted.
Hope said it didn’t sit right with her, but they tried repeatedly, and Ridge and Steffy wouldn’t listen to them. Hope didn’t want to accept the status quo while the Forresters called the shots. “Carter, you could be the one running Forrester Creations,” Hope said intently.
Carter told Hope that Steffy called her a bitch. “That’s what I’m talking about,” Carter said. He noted that it all came at a price, as Ridge was like a brother to him. Carter thought that if he was in charge, he could make sure Hope was reinstated and that it could be a place where everyone had a voice. Carter thought that Hope had given so much and inspired so many.
“You said you believed in me. I love you. That’s why I did what I did,” Carter told Hope. He added that he had a giant pit in his stomach. “Can we really do this? Can we turn Forrester upside down, take over?” Carter wondered.
Outside the door, Brooke eavesdropped and could hear Carter and Hope reveal that Ridge had no idea that they were handing over Forrester Creations to Carter when he and Steffy signed the papers. “If we do this, I’ll bring you back. But I’m in charge, okay? I don’t want this going back on you. It’ll be my decision and mine alone,” Carter told Hope. “Sounds like you have a choice to make: Kick Ridge and Steffy out and put you, Carter Walton, in charge of Forrester Creations,” Hope told him. Outside, Brooke’s mind was blown.
